The 2023 Legacy Ring JHH142
A mystery lies at the sparkling heart of our Legacy Collection’s latest addition, the 2023 Legacy Ring JHH142. We know nothing of the owner of the original ring, the occasion that inspired its creation, or where the piece lay hidden for many years. What we do know is that around 1973 our company founder Jens Hansen was commissioned to create a gold and amethyst ring for a customer whose identity remains lost in jewellery history. In the early 2000s, the ring, engraved with Jens’ personal ‘Maker’s Mark’ and embodying his bold, distinctively Danish-driven aesthetic, was rediscovered, brought into our workshop and purchased for our Archive Collection.
Today, our Legacy Ring JHH142 - named for both Jens Hansen and his son Halfdan, our current owner and creative director - is as captivating, stylistically relevant and wearable as it was 50 years ago.
Featuring a scalloped bezel setting holding an oversize 10mm x 12mm gemstone, the JHH142 has a three-quarter tapered band and an intricate open-clutch shank. Each handcrafted heirloom-quality ring is numbered, carries our Special Edition Hallmark and comes with a manufacturing dimensions card.
